The Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) and the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) have taken a significant step in fostering sports development by signing a Cooperation Agreement. This milestone event took place on the margins of the ANOCA General Assembly in Algeria, March 14- 15, 2025.

The agreement was officially signed by EOCGA President Adam Mthethwa and NNOC President Ndeulipula Hamutumwa, with EOCGA CEO Maxwell Jele and NNOC Vice President Gaby Ahrens serving as witnesses.

This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to the advancement of Olympic Sports and Athlete Development in both countries.

The Cooperation Agreement focuses on key areas including:

  • Sports Development
  • Olympic Promotion
  • Athlete Exchange Programmes

These initiatives aim to create opportunities for athletes to train and compete in each other's countries, enhancing their performance on the international stage.

Beyond sports, this agreement builds on the already strong diplomatic ties between Namibia and Eswatini, which are both members of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU). The long-standing political and economic relationships between the two nations further reinforce the foundation of this sporting partnership.

Speaking on the agreement, NNOC President Ndeulipula Hamutumwa expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating,

"We are confident that this partnership will produce tangible results in improving athlete performance and fostering sports development in both nations."

This agreement marks the beginning of a promising journey towards enhancing sports excellence and strengthening international ties between Namibia and Eswatini.

Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming exchange programs and joint initiatives!
