Windhoek, 23 July 2025 — The Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) and Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) has officially appointed Anri Parker as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 September 2025.

Parker, a well-regarded figure in Namibian sports, brings extensive experience in sports administration, strategic leadership, and international collaboration. Her appointment signals a transformative step for the NNOC as it aims to strengthen its impact both locally and globally.

In her new role, Parker will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and daily operations of the NNOC, including preparing Namibian athletes for participation in the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. She will also focus on enhancing athlete development programs, improving support systems, and building partnerships with national and international sports organizations.

“I am deeply honored to take on the role of CEO for the Namibia National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games,” Parker said in a statement. “Sport has the power to transform lives and unite communities, and I am committed to building on the NNOC’s legacy to empower our athletes, promote inclusivity, and elevate Namibia’s presence on the global stage.”

NNOC President Dr. Ndeulipula Hamutumwa praised the appointment, expressing full confidence in Parker’s ability to lead. “Anri’s passion for sport, coupled with her strategic vision and dedication to athlete welfare, makes her the perfect leader to guide the NNOC forward. We look forward to her contributions in advancing our mission and achieving new milestones for Namibian sport.”

Dr. Hamutumwa also extended heartfelt thanks to outgoing Secretary General Mrs. Joan Smit for her years of dedicated service.

With Parker at the helm, the NNOC is poised to reinforce its vision of becoming a leading Olympic and Commonwealth Games body in Africa—fostering unity, excellence, and opportunity through sport.
